His research is multidisciplinary , as he works with social and physical science researchers and collaborates with a broad range of Indigenous, NGO , industry, and government partners.
Dr. Mandrak will supervise graduate students and collaborate with several partners on research on the use of genomics in assessing the impacts of invasive species and power plant entrainment on fishes, fish habitat, and fish production. He will also participate in the translational aspects of the project to ensure that fisheries management and conservation practitioners can make full use of the tools developed by GEN-FISH.
