Dr. Semeniuk is internationally recognized in predictive systems ecology, applying integrative methodologies to forecast human and wildlife responses to rapid environmental change. Her pioneering contributions are developing leading-edge interdisciplinary solutions for conservation science within coupled human-and-animal systems in conflict over resources. She actively promotes equity, diversity and inclusion to innovate responsible scientific and knowledge exchange for ensuring successful conservation policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Semeniuk and her students funded by the GEN-FISH program will be testing and validating how well the genomic chip developed for the Fish Health Toolkit can predict the behaviour and physiology of ecologically, commercially, and culturally important fish species (e.g., brook trout, Atlantic salmon, Chinook salmon) facing rapid ecological change. She and her students will also work closely with end \u2013 users in investigating barriers to and facilitators of adoption of these genomic Toolkits to promote effective management policies in ecosystem health.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
