Dr. Audet specializes in the ecophysiology of aquatic organisms. She has been involved in numerous research projects in marine biology, aquaculture, and fisheries in collaboration with colleagues from universities and government laboratories during which she trained more than 60 graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.

GEN-FISH funding will allow Dr. Audet to expand her research program comparing different strains (aquaculture) and populations (wild) of freshwater fish in Canada to predict organismal performance/ fitness on species of interest for aquaculture, reintroduction to the wild, or conservation.

With increasing threats to the aquatic environment, it is essential that we also evolve our technologies to identify issues and potential solutions quickly.
