Dr. Pavey leads CRI Genomics, a state-of-the-art lab that uses modern genomics techniques to address ecological questions. Projects fall into four broad categories; population genomics, transcriptomics, ecology of microbiomes, and environmental DNA.

Dr. Pavey will supervise graduate students and coordinate fieldwork to extend the GEN-FISH work to New Brunswick. In particular, he will help to validate the stress-response transcriptional profiling chip and also develop advanced eDNA methods.

With increasing threats to the aquatic environment, it is essential that we also evolve our technologies to identify issues and potential solutions quickly.
